The birds of Nowruzlu wetland can be classified in two groups:
Aquatic and shore birds: This group of birds are highly dependent on water resources for nutrition and reproduction and are adapted to aquatic environments. Different species of such birds can be seen in Nowruzlu wetland, such as geese, ducks, swans, pelicans, herons, egrets, bitterns, cattle egret, types of large white-headed gulls, ruddy shelduck, grebes, cormorants, coots, stork, sternidae, sandpiper, stilt, lapwing, etc.
Land birds: Although this group lives outside of aquatic environments and in land areas with a diverse natural appearance, they are surprisingly attracted to water. A small spring or atmosphere with the lowest efficiency, due to having rich food, provides the favorable conditions for drinking and feeding of most of the birds in this group. Among the land birds that can be seen in Nowruzlu wetland, we can mention types of birds of prey such as eagle, harrier, kestrel, hawk, Eurasian sparrow hawk, owl, Eurasian eagle-owl, etc. Likewise, non-predatory birds such as common cuckoos, cuckoos, magpies, hooded crow, rook, laughing dove, bee-eaters, rollers, Eurasian hoopoe, finches, starlings, wagtails, larks, woodpeckers, kingfishers, etc. also lived in the protected area of Nowruzlu wetland.
